How do I wash my glassware?

Please see the instructions on our care card included with your purchase, for how to look after your glassware.

We recommend that you hand-wash your glassware one piece at a time in moderately hot water using a mild detergent. Use a soft cleaning cloth – do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleansers.

After washing in detergent, rinse your glass well in clean water then hand dry with a soft lint-free cloth. For that extra shine, rinse the glasses in hot water containing a few drops of vinegar - drain and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. We recommend you use our Nouvelle Glass polishing cloth which is available to buy when you purchase your glassware.

The rims are naturally the weakest part of stemware, so do not place glasses upside down on the draining rack or when storing them. When hand drying, hold the glass by the bowl but refrain from twisting the stem and the bowl in opposite directions as this can cause the stem to snap.

To prevent cracking or breakage caused by extreme temperature variations, do not pour cold liquids into the glass that has just been washed in hot water. Likewise, allow the chilled glass to reach room temperature before immersing in hot water.

Is it dishwasher safe?

While our Nouvelle glasses are dishwasher safe, we recommend that you hand-wash your glassware one piece at a time in moderately hot water using a mild detergent. Help! My order has arrived broken.

It's of the utmost important to us that your goods arrive safely and in as-new condition. However we understand glassware can be fragile in transit. Please inspect the condition of your glassware upon receipt. In the unfortunate circumstance you receive an item that is defective, damaged or broken, we ask you to please photograph the broken item and the packaging, as soon as possible. Please email these images, along with your order number, to info@nouvelleglass.com.

We ask you to email:

Help! How do I cancel or return my item?

Unfortunately we're unable to offer returns or exchanges if you change your mind, as our glassware is personalised for you or your recipient and is unable to be re-sold.

If you have received an item with a personalisation by Nouvelle Glass made in error, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need to present us with your receipt or proof of purchase and order number.

Although we make every effort to provide as much information as possible and assist each of our clients individually,  we ask that you please read the information below carefully before making your purchase.

Processing Your Order

Processing time refers to the time it takes for us to prepare your order for shipping. At Nouvelle Glass we endeavour to get your delivery to you as soon as possible. All orders are processed within 1 - 2 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. Please keep this as your proof of purchase. Once you have placed your order, and your payment is verified, our talented team will engrave your glassware, hand polish, and perform quality control to ensure your glassware is immaculate.  Your order will then be packaged securely ready for dispatch. You will receive an email with your tracking number once your order has been shipped. We ship orders daily between Monday and Friday, excluding Australian Public Holidays. Processing time may increase during busy sale periods and holiday periods such as; Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas, Easter, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Shipping Time and Rates - Australia & New Zealand

FREE Standard Shipping time frames are as follows:  

2-6 business days for NSW & ACT. 3-8 business days for QLD, VIC, SA, WA, TAS, NT. 3-10 business days for NZ.

Our Express Shipping is a flat rate of $15 AUD.  We do the utmost to fulfil urgent orders. Upon checkout, please select our Express Shipping option for Australia. Our Express Shipping is a flat rate of $15 AUD and will most likely reach you within;

1-3 business days for NSW, ACT, QLD, and VIC1-5 business days for SA, WA, NT and TAS.3-7 business days for NZ.Shipping Time and Rates - International

We offer International Shipping upon checkout at a flat rate of $30 AUD. Upon checkout, please select our international shipping option.  Tracking is provided on all orders, and estimated delivery times dependent on country & address.

International Customs, Duties, and Taxes

Please note that import duties and sales taxes are not calculated upon checkout, and may be charged to you upon arrival to your country (including VAT). These are incurred once your shipment reaches your destination country.  Please note we are unable to cover the duties and taxes charged to you as they fall to you as the customer. If you would like further information, please contact the customs office in your local city.

Shipping Policy

Please note we cannot be held responsible for items which have been ordered incorrectly and are unable to modify or cancel orders which have been made in error.   We cannot be held responsible for orders which are delayed or misplaced by our shipping carrier. Our shipping fees are non-refundable and subject to change without notice. Please note that we are unable to offer in-store pickup or click and collect services. We are unable to hold orders for delivery on a specific date.

Our goal is to ensure complete satisfaction with our products, and we understand glassware can be fragile in transit, so we will do our best to keep your glassware safe and protected for the journey there. Crystal Glassware Imperfections and Flaws

Each piece of Nouvelle Glassware is a unique piece of handmade crystal glass. This means there may be slight variations between each item.  Please know flawless perfection is unattainable in crystal glass craftsmanship and such perfection can be achieved only in assembly-line products. As our products are hand-made, we do expect these variations, and they are often known as bubble or seeds, and lines or cords, and are explained for you below.  They are elements of fine craftsmanship and are considered beautiful by us here at Nouvelle Glass.   

Characteristics of our Nouvelle Glassware - Bubbles or Seeds

Bubbles or Seeds are characteristics typical of handmade glassware and are not considered a flaw or fault. Gases form the bubble when chemicals are united in the fusing or melting of the raw ingredients. Provided these are not on the rim or broken through the surface, they should not affect the quality or the aesthetic of the glass.

Characteristics of our Nouvelle Glassware - Lines or Cords

A line or “cord” is an almost invisible difference in density in the glass, which occurs during the fusing of the molten crystal. Very incremental differences in thickness may occur resulting in a thin line within the crystal. This is the natural outcome of the hand making process and is not considered a flaw. Although it is visible when the glass is empty because it refracts the light, once the glass is filled the light is refracted at a different angle and it becomes invisible. All our Nouvelle Glassware undergoes thorough quality control. Upon inspection of your glassware, if imperfections are deemed to compromise the final look of the glass they will not be dispatched.
